La Piazza Italian School is an Italian Language and Culture School founded by a native Italian teacher, that is also a mother of bilingual children, who felt the necessity to bring her Italian experience into the American reality.
Our mission is to offer a real, rich and full Italian experience while teaching the language. The beauty and immense cultural heritage of Italy, its art, history, music, literature and cuisine will be part of our student's experience.
La Piazza Italian School offers group courses and private lessons, for all levels of proficiency and all ages.
Michaela Opolka Cappellari is the Founder and Director of La Piazza Italian School.
She was born from an Italian-German bilingual family, and lived and studied entirely in Rome, Italy. After graduating in Classical Studies she studied Foreigner Languages and Literatures at Roma Tre University, in Rome, and at the University of International Studies of Rome, Faculty of Interpreting and Translation. Michaela Opolka Cappellari has international experience in teaching languages (Ireland, Canada, USA). When she moved to the USA in 2012 she begun to think of opening a school where she could bring her expertise and experience to the community she is proudly part of today. La Piazza Italian School opens in 2017 with the mission to offer a real Italian cultural experience to New Jersey, that is well known for its Italian descendants, so to invigorate the Italian legacy in the community and to really keep it alive. Michaela Opolka Cappellari is also a cooking instructor and has in the past taught Italian cuisine at St. Peter's College, Ireland, for the adults night classes.
